Audiology Systems, in partnership with Otometrics, invites you to our AURICAL course. This is a one-day course is designed to assist new users of the AURICAL fitting system in becoming more familiar with the system’s operation.  For current users, this course will allow you to stay up-to-date as new technology and software are introduced to the fitting system. Key training areas include protocol development, data interpretation and presentation, and reporting test result.


This workshop provides information on tools and techniques to facilitate these decisions. Focusing on probe microphone measurements (PMM) and hearing instrument test (HIT) box options, a range of procedures that can be used at various points of the fitting process will be discussed and demonstrated. Highlights include OnTarget, a new precision fitting too and HI Transition, a procedure designed to challenges that can be encountered when patients move forward with evolving amplification systems.

Learner outcomes

  • Have enhanced understanding of the correlation between fitting protocol components and patient outcomes
  • Describe how these tests and tools can be incorporated into their clinical routine.
  • Explain the components of PMM fitting, including how and when they can be applied
  • Understand how (and when) to incorporate (coupler-based) techniques.

    CEU Information 

    Audiology Systems is approved by the American Academy of Audiology to offer Academy CEUs for this activity. The program is worth a maximum of  0.6 CEUs. Academy approval of this continuing education activity is based on course content only and does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedure, or adherence of the event to the Academy's Code of Ethics.     NOTE: Hands-on AURICAL training is held one times a year at the Audiology System’s facility in Schaumburg, Illinois, approximately 45 minutes from O’Hare International Airport.

    Wendy Switalski, Au.D.

    Audiology Development Manager at Audiology Systems

    Wendy Switalski, Au.D. is the audiology development manager at Audiology Systems Inc. Prior to joining the company, Dr. Switalski was the president of Audiometric Consultants Inc., an instrumentation distribution company, and a consultant to Otometrics, a leading manufacturer of hearing and balance equipment. 

    Additionally, she has a private audiology practice in metro-Detroit serving both adult and pediatric populations; and also serves as audiologist for the South Pacific territory of American Samoa. Dr. Switalski has previously served on the boards of the Michigan Academy of Audiology and the Rotary Club of Waterford and currently serves on the advisory board of Global ENT Outreach. 

    She holds a Master’s degree in audiology from the University of Northern Colorado, an M.B.A. from Saginaw Valley State University, and a doctor of audiology degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry School of Audiology.

    Brianna Young, Au.D.

    Clinical Support Specialist II at Otometrics

    Brianna Young, Au.D. is a part of the clinical support audiologist team at GN Otometrics, and has been with the company since August of 2014.  She has previously worked in an Otolaryngology practice with multiple locations preforming pediatric and adult diagnostic hearing evaluations, counseling, and adult hearing aid fittings.  Dr. Young also has previous experience with balance testing & electrophysiological testing, as well as working in an audiology management position.  She obtained her bachelors of science in Communicative Disorders from Northern Illinois University and graduated with her Doctor of Audiology degree from The Ohio State University.
